ParkPup — Privacy Policy

ParkPup is a private, invite-only app that lets residents of the same building share their own parking spots with one another, for free. This policy explains what we collect, why, and your choices. We do not sell your data and we do not show ads.

What we collect

• Phone number — to identify you and to sign you in (your number must be on your building's approved list).
• Name — first name (and optional last name) you enter.
• Your parking spot details — floor, tower, apartment number, and any free-text arrival instructions you choose to add.
• A login code (PIN) — stored only as a one-way hash (bcrypt); we can never read it.
• Session token — a random token stored on your device (as a hash on our side) so you stay signed in.
• Activity — the spots you share or reserve, and the points you earn.

How we use it

Only to operate the parking-sharing service inside your building: signing you in, showing available spots, letting neighbors reserve and contact each other, awarding points, and sending you notifications.

What other residents see

By design, when you share or reserve a spot, other approved residents of your building can see your name, the spot's location and instructions, and your phone number — so a neighbor can reach you about the parking. This is the core purpose of the app. Residents of other buildings cannot see your data.

Who we share it with (service providers)

• SMS providers (019 SMS / Twilio) — receive your phone number solely to deliver a one-time verification code.
• Supabase — our database and backend host, stores the data above.
• Vercel — serves the app.

These providers process data on our behalf. We do not sell data or use it for advertising.

Security

Traffic is encrypted in transit (HTTPS). Your PIN is stored hashed (bcrypt); your session token is stored hashed (SHA-256). Tables are not directly readable by the app — all access goes through locked-down, authenticated server functions.

Retention & deletion

We keep your data while your account exists. You can permanently delete your account and personal data at any time in the app: Settings (⚙️) → Delete account. See our account deletion page for details, or email us to request deletion.

Children

ParkPup is intended for adult residents and is not directed to children.

Your choices

You can view and edit your details in the app, and delete your account at any time. To exercise any data right, contact us below.
